About Healing Horizons Counselling

Welcome to Healing Horizons Counselling. My name is Kaitlin Coker, and I am a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist  (MSW, RSW) dedicated to supporting adolescents, young adults, and their families as they navigate the complexities of life.

I hold an Advanced Standing Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto, along with a Post-Degree Honours Bachelor of Social Work from York University. My academic background is complemented by a Social Service Worker Diploma from Seneca College and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Sociology, and Social Anthropology from Dalhousie University. This diverse educational foundation has provided me with a deep understanding of the various factors that influence mental health and well-being.

From a young age, I have been passionate about helping others and have always been drawn to the field of mental health. Throughout my career, I have focused on creating safe, non-judgmental spaces where young people feel comfortable sharing their struggles. I have extensive experience with evidence-based therapeutic approaches that are effective in addressing a range of challenges.

I understand that adolescence and young adulthood can be particularly challenging periods, filled with unique pressures and transitions. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or other mental health concerns, I am here to provide compassionate and empathetic support. My approach is client-centred and anti-oppressive, ensuring that your individual needs and experiences are respected and valued.

At Healing Horizons Counselling, my goal is to empower you to overcome obstacles, develop coping skills, and achieve a balanced, fulfilling life. I believe in the importance of mental health and am committed to walking alongside you on your journey toward healing and growth.
